Templates
If you want a quick but smart website, templates can be the answer. Look at some sample templates here.
You might be surprised to learn that many web designers use these templates when designing websites. Sometimes they don't tell the client. We prefer to be upfront about it. We are happy to use templates if you know we are using one, and it suits your requirements.
If you just want a basic but professional looking website quickly, that just gets your business on to the internet - a template may be just what you are looking for. But for many websites, a template is too constricting and will cost more in the long run. Talk to us first about your requirements.
The advantages of using templates are numerous:
- Quick - the design is already done. Just change the text, add your logo and upload your new site.
- Design - Professional designers have spent time creating a professional look and feel that would cost you thousands of dollars to duplicate.
- Cheap - a website for less than a hundred bucks? Sure, but you also need to pay someone to alter it for your company which may cost another $500 or so depending on your requirements.
But, as in all things there are disadvantages too:
- Lots of other companies could use the same template meaning your website is not that unique
- Templates are not well-coded, which is fine if you just want a small website with less than 10 pages, but becomes a problem if you want to keep expanding your website.
- Inflexible - deviating much from the template design is difficult and not usually worth the hassle.
If you think a template will be suitable for your website, feel free to download one right now, or speak to us first to confirm a price on tailoring it to your business.
