Web design
Affordable web design, priced like this market
Cheap and good are not opposites, but cheap usually means something specific is being cut. The useful question is what. In this market a small business site realistically runs $600 to $2,500, an online shop $1,500 to $6,000, and ongoing care $40 to $120 a month — and there is a sensible way to spend less at every one of those points without ending up with something disposable.

What a realistic budget looks like here
A focused small business site: $600 to $2,500. An online shop: $1,500 to $6,000, depending on how many products, how many delivery rules and how much of the stock system needs connecting. Care and updates afterwards: $40 to $120 a month, which is optional in principle and the difference between a site that ages well and one that quietly falls apart. All of those figures include ITBIS in the quotes we send.
Where the money genuinely goes
The biggest single lever is photographs, then writing, then the number of pages — not design flourishes. A business that already has good photographs of its work and clear prices can spend $600 and look better than a competitor who spent $2,000 with a stock library. Conversely, no amount of design rescues a site with no pictures of the actual premises and no idea what things cost.
Three things we will not cut to hit a price
Mobile-first speed, a real contact route on every page, and proper consent for personal data under Ley 172-13 rather than a banner nobody reads. Those three are cheap to build in and expensive to add later, and the third is a legal exposure rather than a design preference. Everything else on a site is negotiable, and we will say what a smaller version would mean.
Spending it across the year, not all at once
A build finished during the hurricane season, launched before December. Then a couple of service pages once the New Year rush is over, and the shop added the following summer. Staging a build this way keeps the cash out of a tight month and lets the first version earn before the second is paid for. June to November is also when we can give your project more attention than we could the week before Christmas.
The subscription that quietly costs more
A builder plan is not free, and it is not one payment. Twenty to fifty dollars a month is common, which is between $1,200 and $3,000 over five years, for a site you cannot move without asking. Add the constraint it creates — changing the price of your own domain, or needing permission to fix something — and a one-off build often turns out to be the cheaper option for a business that plans to still be here in 2031.
Common questions
- What is the cheapest website you would actually build?
- A single focused page — one clear offer, your photographs, your prices and a contact route — starts at $119 and is genuinely useful for a business that only needs to exist online. It is not a substitute for a proper site, and we will say so if that is what you actually need.
- Do you charge a monthly fee for hosting and updates?
- There is an optional care plan at $40 to $120 a month covering updates, backups, monitoring, security and every small change. Nothing about your site depends on it — no feature is withheld, and if you stop paying you keep everything, including the domain in your name.
- I have about $700. Is that enough?
- Very often yes, for a four or five page site that does one job properly. The budget goes furthest when you already have photographs and can tell us what you charge. We will lay out precisely what that money buys and what it leaves out, so there are no surprises in month three.
- Can you quote without a long sales process?
- Yes. Send us what you have and a short description of what the site has to do, and you will get a fixed written quote with a timeline. If we are not the right fit, we will usually say that too — and suggest the kind of setup that would suit you better.
- Do you work in stages so I can spread the cost?
- That is our normal approach for anything above a small site. Launch the essential pages, measure what people actually use, then add the shop, the extra languages or the seasonal campaigns once the first part is earning.
