Being found on Google in the Dominican Republic
For almost every business here, being found by someone twenty minutes away is worth more than any national ranking you could realistically reach. This is what actually moves that — and, just as usefully, what does not, and who to be careful of when somebody promises it will.

The map results do most of the work
When someone searches for what you do near them, Google shows a map before it shows websites. That little cluster — the map pack — is where local enquiries come from, and what determines it is almost entirely your Google Business Profile: whether it is claimed, whether the categories are right, whether the description sounds like a human, whether the photographs are of your actual premises, and whether people review you. It is free, and it outperforms almost anything you can pay for.
Opening hours are the local problem, and the season is inverted
We have never met a business here where the standard 09:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday was true. A colmado trades all year while a beach bar shuts for the hurricane season. A restaurant changes its hours twice a year. A tour operator runs hard all winter and slows down in July. Get the hours wrong in January and you lose the peak; get them wrong in July and you lose the season. It is unglamorous, it is free, and it does more for local results than any other single change.
Reviews in the language your customers think in
Your customers will review you in the language they think in, and the good ones are usually short: excellent, very good service, clean rooms, friendly staff — and a great deal more valuable than anything written for an audience. Ask at the right moment, reply to every review including the critical ones, and reply in the language it was written in — English, German, Russian or Haitian Creole, depending on who is actually sitting at your table. A considered reply to a bad review is one of the strongest trust signals a local business can send.
Town pages that are actually different
If you genuinely work in Sosúa, Cabarete, Playa Grande and Puerto Plata, those are four different searches with four different intents. A page for each, saying something true about what you do in that area, will earn its place. Twelve pages with the town name swapped around will not — that is the technique that got local SEO a bad reputation, and it does not work any better now than it ever did.
Consistency of name, number and locality
Your business name, phone number and town should match wherever they appear: directories, social accounts, booking platforms, old listings, and that card someone typed in years ago. Mismatches are one of the most common reasons local results stay low for no visible reason. One correction here is often worth more than a month of work anywhere else.
What we report, and what we refuse to promise
Calls made from your profile, direction requests, messages, booking clicks, WhatsApp clicks — the things a customer actually did. Not rank tracking, and not a position on a chart. Nobody can buy a place in the map results, and anybody who promises you one in a month is either lying or planning to do something that will get the profile suspended.
Common questions
- How long does local SEO take to show results?
- A completed profile with proper hours, categories and photographs can move within a few weeks. Broader local results typically take two to three months, and meaningful changes in traffic take six to twelve. Anyone promising page one next week is telling you something untrue.
- Can you guarantee a position in the maps?
- No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. It depends on your profile, genuine reviews, your proximity to the person searching and the competition around you. We can improve all four of the things we control, and we will not take on work that requires a promise we cannot keep.
- My Google Business Profile was suspended. Can you help?
- Often, yes. Suspension is usually caused by an address or category problem, a duplicate profile, or a listing that has moved, and it is usually recoverable with the right evidence. We will review what happened, help with the appeal, and fix whatever caused it so it does not happen again.
- How much does local SEO cost per month?
- It sits inside the same $40 to $120 monthly range as general care, and it is quoted against what the work actually is: profile work, review handling, page content, reporting. If your business is genuinely new or barely trading, we will tell you that the site itself is the priority for the first few months.
- I do not have a shopfront. Can I still rank locally?
- Yes. Service-area businesses can appear in local results without a public address, and plenty of strong businesses here run from a home office. We publish the detail you actually have — locality, province, area served — and we will not invent an address to fill a field, because a wrong address is worse for local results than none at all.
- Should I chase rankings in other parts of the country as well?
- Only where you genuinely serve. Pages for towns you do not work in get ignored, and they can dilute the ones you do. We build for the area you can realistically serve — the north coast, the Cibao, or whichever coast you are on — and we say so when a search you want is not a search you can win.
